SAM CARROLL

Sam discovered lindy hop in 1998, teaching in 2002, DJing in 2005, and she hasn't stopped for a breath yet. Well, except for that whole pandemic thing. She's a great fan of Whitey's Lindy Hoppers and Frankie Manning, she adores eccentric solo dance (the weirder the better), and she's nuts about Leon James.

Sam has a long professional history in the jazz dance world. She has DJed all over the world for many years (Sweden, South Korea, Austria, USA, New Zealand, Australia, etc), and has been involved in running some of the largest dance events in Australia (MLX, MSF, SLX, SSF, Jazz BANG, etc). She has taught lindy hop (Swing Dance Sydney), run workshops, performed and competed, produced shows, managed bands and DJs, produced jazz radio shows, and advised on policy development for dancers.

Sam Carroll is currently located in Sydney, where she manages the social media for 1929 Studios, tinkers with the website, and writes long emails.
