Kenny Nelson
Kenny Nelson hails from Denver, Colorado, USA. He has competed and performed with 23 Skidoo, the Balboa Justice League, and Boulder Swing Dance. Recently, he enjoyed a 3 month stint in Porto, Portugal, regularly teaching weekly classes in Porto and Lisbon. His teaching has taken him also to Galway, Madrid, Berlin, Adelaide, and finally Melbourne.
Kenny’s competitive side has found him winning at numerous events including Camp Hollywood, Lindy on the Rocks, Ultimate Lindy Hop Championships, Camp Jitterbug, and others. He is known for his fierceness, creative mad scientist moves, and connection. Kenny’s classes are known for being fun, detailed, and technique based whether he's teaching lindy hop, air-steps, blues, balboa, or west coast swing. When he's not dancing, you can typically find him doing parkour, reading sci-fi and fantasy, and planking random objects.
Kenny is also an accomplished swing DJ! He is a home town favorite DJ in Colorado and has been invited to DJ at events across the world including notable events such as Midwest Lindyfest, The Rhythm is Jumpin', Heartland Swing Festival, Berlin Blues Explosion, and Lindy on the Rocks. Kenny enjoys playing to the crowd and getting them dancing with awesome classic tunes. He'll play it slow for the blues dancers, sweet and hot for the swing dancers, and inspiring for the competition dancers.
